About Me

unnamedGreetings Internet visitors, you’ve reached the webpage of Jesse Stawnyczy. I am a journalism student at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. I freelance work for ASU’s State Press and other publications.

My goals in the journalism world focus in on the writing and digital direction of the craft, and I would like to write for a major print/online magazine or news publication, with options to freelance during spare time. Publications such as Arizona Highways, National Geographic, the Washington Post, BBC News or The Intercept are on my list of potential places I’d like to be involved with.

I am currently developing my skill set and passion for photography from something that used to be a mere hobby into a professional portfolio. I believe photojournalism and art can coexist in digital and film – though people might see it as a competition between the two mediums, but I see it as a complementary relationship. Radio broadcasting interests me as well, and I host an hour-long music show on ASU’s Blaze Radio one day a week.

In my free time, you’ll find me taking Polaroids, going to punk and metal shows, hiking mountains, and driving my Jeep across the country in search of the next great moment.
